Instagram 用戶 @margielatab1 是一個集合有關不少 Tabi Boots 以及其他 Maison Margiela archive 影像的 account，這個用戶日前在 Instastories 上寫道：「Vetements 確認撤回男裝忍者鞋的生產計劃，期望女裝的款式也會被取消。」

若這個消息屬實， Demna Gvasalia 豈不是一直在為自己抄襲的事實找藉口？這回弄得要撇回生產計劃，是否代表他已江郎才盡，露出他根本不懂做設計的狐狸尾巴？雖然現時尚未確認他將會把女裝的設計一同撤回，但這無疑會對品牌造成經濟上的損失，再者，長遠下去，可能會影響到 Demna Gvasalia 的形象，甚至是粉絲對品牌的忠誠程度。
 
相信這次的事件對時裝界來說是一個警惕，我們應要懂得將致敬與抄襲分清楚，也告訴我們時裝設計師的作品也是值得被尊重的一面藝術，現在我們一起期待 Vetements 將女裝忍者鞋也一同撤回，還 Martin Margiela 一個公道吧。

John Galliano 指出，當他離開前品牌 (Dior) 到 Maison Margiela 擔起創意總監一職時，發現來看時裝騷的人比起以前有着很不一樣的分別：

John Galliano 與一間專業設計反光紡織品的公司合作，攜手研究出一種於常態看是一種平平無奇的黑色布料，若以閃光燈一攝出來，卻是一種獨特、充滿動感的幻彩色調，最重要是這個獨特的效果只能在電話和相機屏幕上看見，以肉眼是不能看見分別的，諷刺現今人們只顧着看手機屏幕的現象。

John Galliano 每次都放膽挑戰極限，這次的設計手法看似顛覆傳統高訂設計的概念，但當中其實有不少設計都有保留傳統高訂服的工藝，而每一個造型更是經過精心設計和配搭，呈現於大家眼前。

John Galliano 亦保留了 Maison Margiela 的經典設計 DNA: 將衣服結構拆解的設計概念 (deconstruction)

這包括了將傳統高訂布料和概念與現代化的工業物料融為一體，其一例子是以一塊塊彩色膠片縫起，變成有如傳統高訂服中的羽毛流蘇設計，動感萬分，這些其實都是經典高訂的設計概念，John Galliano 卻以更前衛的方法呈現，這比起經典的高訂設計，更講求對時裝的認識與精緻的造工技巧。
 
John Galliano 堪稱為史上最偉大的女裝設計師之一，是其中一位真正懂時裝設計的藝術家，能夠洞悉到時裝生態甚至是社會上的現象，我們也應該不感意外，他再次秉承一路以來做設計的執着：挑戰極限，為我們創造更富意義和藝術感的高訂時裝。

直至日前的秋冬 2018 男裝發布，Demna 才承認自己所做的設計有着 Margiela 的影子，是作為向他致敬的設計手法。
 
Demna Gvasalia 以 “the elephant in the room” 作為 Fall Winter Menswear 2018/19 的設計概念，意指一個擺在眼前，而大家卻不願正視的問題。Demna 指出，他希望回到作為一位設計師的根本，回到 Margiela 的設計手法；暗示自己的設計一直以來也是以 Margiela 作藍本。

Margiela 曾經說過：「The Tabi Boots 是我職業生涯中最重要的烙印，是容易識別的一款設計，即使經歷 25 年的洗禮，仍然不感過時，而且，從來沒有人抄襲過這款設計。」

Margiela 的粉絲看畢應該感到氣憤，Demna Gvasalia 本人卻為此感到自豪，因為他的一句 “Back to the Martin Margiela approach”（回到 Martin Margiela 的設計手法），作為致敬的款式，就直接將這雙有着「神枱級」的設計搬到自己的舞台上，更厚顏無恥的稱這為自己的設計，筆者看畢後雙眼只懂反白。

Although Diet Prada has Demna’s seal of approval, we’re definitely not condoning the surprise appearance of Margiela’s iconic tabi boots on the Vetements runway today.  His work has always heavily referenced the fashion house (where he worked from 2009-2012), but today he took a more brazen approach for the FW18 collection he called the “elephant in the room”, plucking from the entirety of its oeuvre. • “References exist to feed us, but not to feed us in order to copy – they feed us in order to create something new from it”, he said.  Indeed, that’s exactly what Margiela did in 1989 by turning traditional Japanese socks (dating back to the 15th century) into one of fashion’s most beloved cult items.  We’re just wondering what newness Demna’s version is bringing to the table other than supporting the autobiographical fanboy concept. • That being said, there’s no doubt he has serious talent in rehashing big concepts and turning them into serious cash.  We’re just hoping these boots won’t be produced.  Being iconic as they are, it’s hard to fathom why anyone wouldn’t just buy the original.  Otherwise, cool collection lol. #vetements #clothes #margiela #tabiboot #sacredground #lol #copy #why #history #personalhistory #appropriation #inspiration #tabi #cult #demnagvasalia #martinmargiela #ootd #wiwt #dietprada

Fashion Police @diet_prada 亦開腔道出 Demna Gvasailia 的不是，更指出這雙由 Demna Gvasalia 所設計的 “Tabi boot” 不應該被生產出來，這雙鞋子的經典名譽理應要被保存下來。老實說，當我們仍然能夠在市面購買這雙經典的原創設計時，為何我們還要去光顧這雙二次創作的版本？
 
面對指控，Demna Gvasalia 卻否認自己在作直接抄襲，相反，他認為這個世界到處也是 reference（參考資料），他只是在運用現存的概念去創造新穎的設計。
 
雖然關於這雙疑似抄襲 Margiela The Tabi Boots 的設計受到很大程度上的爭議，令不少罵治的粉絲感到心碎。但這個系列卻算是 Demna Gvasalia 推出眾多系列中最具設計感的 collection。其一亮點是數款外套露出的耀眼裡布，是直接縫在外套背面那充滿少女風格的裙子，碎花，格子，monogram 的設計也一應俱全，那充滿層次感的設計絕對吸引到大家的目光。

Demna Gvasalia 每次帶給我們的消息總是「獲獲新鮮獲獲金」：與大大小小品牌聯乘、將扶手電梯變成天橋、宣佈退出參與時裝周、為 Balenciaga 推出醜中之極的 Crocs 厚底鞋，這次來個 The Tabi boots 抄襲事件……看來，如果你要稱 Demna Gvasalia 為最懂當代設計的後起之秀，倒不如說他是最懂遊戲規則的話題王？
